Beacon City Council Minutes

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

7:00 p.m.

I.    Call to Order- Mayor Jim Hughes called the meeting to order at 6:58 p.m. All members present.

 

II.   General Business

 

A.  Review Minutes from March 3rd & March 16th Meeting-

B.  Treasurer’s Report –

C.  Claims Report-

D.  Sewer Report –

E.  Water Reports –

F.   Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter- No report.

G.  Sheriff’s Report-

 

Motion to approve consent agenda made by Richard Thomas, seconded by Ron Kauffman.  Motion approved.

 

III.    Old Business:

A.  Hall Rentals-$350.00 brought in this month.

B.  Clean-up& Animal Control-Beacon’s clean up day will be June 1st.

C.  Street Signs-Street signs are here and in the garage. We were denied grant for street signs, Jim will call and talk to the state.

D.  2nd Reading of Budget Report-  2nd reading made.  Motion to approve Budget Report made by Darrell Rust, seconded by Ron Kauffman.  Motion approved.

E.  Storm Sirens-Darrell talked to Jamey and everything went through.  Just waiting on approval of the grant.

F.  Mowing (letter)-Century Lawn will no longer be mowing. Darrell will contact Jeff Kelderman for a quote and Richard Thomas will contact Doug DeJong.

G.  Crisis Intervention-Mayor signed proclamation stating that April is sexual assault month.

 

IV.    New Business

  1. Bernie Chapman was asking about a trailer being put on Verna Bolibaugh’s property.  Discussion followed.
  2. Lois’s House-No permits are required for Lois Nicholson to build new house.  Lois asked if she could fill in ditch on the West side.  Council had no problem with filling in the ditch.

  3. Audit-Pay oversight fee of $475.00.

  4. Fire Payment- went down

 

VI. Next Scheduled Council Meeting May 5, 2015 @ 7:00 p.m.
