Beacon City Council Minutes

7:00 p.m.

 

 

 

  1. Call to Order-Mayor Jim Hughes called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. 
  2. General Business 

 

  1.  Review Minutes from May 6th  Meeting- B.  Treasurer’s Report –

    C.  Claims Report-

    D.  Sewer Report –

    E.  Water Reports –

    F.   Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter-One investigation, one complaint of dog chasing jogger.  Council will talk to the owner.  One report of euthanizing a dog per county attorney.  

    G.  Sheriff’s Report-.

     

    Motion to approve consent agenda approved by Dwight Teeter, seconded by Ron Kauffman.  Motion approved.

     

 

  1. Old Business:  

    A.  Hall Rentals– Three rentals in June and three scheduled for July.

    B.  Clean-up & Animal Control– City wide clean up went well.  Dwight talked to Ashely Wilson about her dog running loose.  She has been keeping the dog on a leash.

    C.  New Proposal for Run-off Election-Discussion concerning eliminating “run-off” election.  Motion to eliminate run-off election made by Richard Thomas, seconded by Darrell Rust.  Motion approved.

    D.  Fund Raiser for new floor-Tabled until next meeting.

    E.  Street Signs-Shane is going to let the City use his posthole digger when the City is ready to put up signs.  Jim will talk to County engineer and find out what needs to be done for sure.

     

     

  2. New Business  

 

  1.  The project has been approved.  The only exception is City needs to clean out the ditch and remove pole and this cost will be the city’s responsibility. Approximate costs will be between $2,000-$3,000. Motion to approve made by Dwight Teeter, seconded by Ron Kauffman. Motion approved.IV. Business from the Floor
