Beacon City Council Minutes
Tuesday, June 2, 2015
7:00 p.m.
I. Call to Order- Mayor Jim Hughes called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council Members present: Darrell Rust, Richard Thomas, Dwight Teeter, Ron Kauffman. Council Members absent: Cecil Smith
II. General Business
A. Review Minutes from May 5th Meeting-
B. Treasurer’s Report –
C. Claims Report-
D. Sewer Report –No report
E. Water Reports – No report
F. Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter- Report of a dog bit. Jim Hughes will talk to the home owners.
G. Sheriff’s Report- No report
Motion to accept the consent agenda made by Richard Thomas, seconded by Darrell Rust. Motion approved.
III. Old Business:
A. Hall Rentals-No report.
B. Clean-up & Animal Control-City clean up went well.
C. Street Signs-.Jim called and checked on the signs, everything has been approved and the signs have been ordered. The City should receive the signs in about 8 weeks.
E. Storm Sirens- Jill put an ad in the paper stating that the City was taking bids for installation of the storm siren. Jill will send the ad to Jamey Robinson so he can collect bids also.
IV. New Business
- 2016 Election–Tabled until next meeting due to Cecil being absent.
- Tax Sale-Received a letter from the attorney that there will be a tax sale of 31 Williams, Beacon, IA if taxes are not paid within 90 days.
