Special Meeting
Tuesday, August 9th, 2016
7:00 p.m.
I. Call to Order- Mayor Jim Hughes called the meeting to order at 6:58 p.m. Members present: Richard Thomas, Cecil Smith, Ron Kauffman, Dwight Teeter, Darrell Rust
II. General Business
A. Culvert on Flora Street- 2nd reading of bid from Concrete Expressions, the work will be completed within 60 days. Motion made by Darrell Rust to approve Concrete Expressions’ bid for culvert work on Flora Street. Seconded by Ron Kauffman. Motion approved.
Motion made by Richard Thomas to waive the 3rd reading of the bid from Concrete Expressions. Seconded by Ron Kauffman. Motion approved.
B. Front St. Property- Ron Kauffman got in touch with our City Attorney Jeff Smith. Jeff can begin the process of the City of Beacon becoming owner of the vacant property on Front Street. Council discussed and will proceed with having Jeff Smith perform the work necessary to have the City become owner of the property.
III. Next Scheduled Council Meeting Tuesday, September 6th at 7 p.m.
IV. Adjournment– Motion to adjourn made by Darrell Rust, seconded by Ron Kauffman. Motion approved. Meeting adjourned
